FREQUENT QUESTIONS
What league do the Idaho Matadors participate in?
The Matadors return for their sixth season of play in the Rocky Mountain Football League. The league has been in existence for 13 years with teams in Western and Eastern Idaho, Utah, Montana and Wyoming.
Where do the Matadors play their home games?
The Idaho Matadors call Nampa Christian High School home. The facility provides our players with a central location, a great setting and a place to enjoy football under the lights.
Is this 11 man or 8 man football?
This is football at it's truest form, we play 11 man full contact football.
Do the players get paid to play?
No, less than 1% percent of the population in the United States gets paid to play football. We exist to allow football players in the valley the opportunity to continue to play the game they love.
What is the cost to participate?
Players need to provide their own equipment: helmet, shoulder pads, cleats etc....and pay a player fee. You can expect to pay a minimum of $100-$200 getting your equipment. You will need this equipment by March 2010. The player fee will help cover team expenses - these include: home field costs, referees, league fees and team uniforms. The player fee for 2011 will be announced at the end of 2010.
When are games and practices?
Practices are held once a week on Saturday's beginning in the month of January until kickoff in mid April. Once the season starts, practice or game film will be held once a week on either Wednesday night or Friday night.
